Children and Family Ministries

Our mission is: “To honor God by leading children to become devoted followers and ministers of Jesus Christ.” Our priorities, as teachers, volunteers, and staff, are to keep the children safe as we encourage them to know and follow Jesus in their everyday lives.

Early Childhood

Nursery – Walkers – Preschool Our youngest children are loved by consistent teachers in all our birth through preschool classes. We are using a curriculum that focuses on God’s love and character rather than good moral behavior. We believe wholeheartedly that right behavior follows a right relationship with God and not the reverse.

Elementary Age

At 9:00 a.m. every Sunday, Bethany has grade-level classes for all elementary students. We are using a wonderful curriculum published by Gospel Light, which not only includes in-class activities, but papers for our children to take home for continued learning and to encourage conversations with their parents. Kindergarten through 4th grade For Children’s Church, K-4th graders join their parents for the first half of the worship service at 10:45 am. Although we value age-specific preaching and teaching, we value the presence of our children and the unity of families. After we have worshipped together, enjoyed special guests and any drama or video presented to the Bethany body, a Children’s Message is presented to the children. Then our K-4th graders head off to the Treehouse with their Children’s Church teachers. We are currently following the sermon schedule, and creating interactive lessons for the kids to go along with what the adults are learning.  This provides a basis for conversations within families about biblical principles. 5th and 6th Graders Our 5th and 6th grade students are invited to remain in the worship service with their parents. We supply paper and pencils, and sometimes specifically-themed worksheets at the back of the worship center. This provides our kids with the opportunity to take notes or draw what they are hearing in the message. We believe that this age is critical as preteens look outside the home for new role models so we want to assist you, as parents, to maximize your influence in the eyes and lives of your children. Whether or not your pre-teen will admit it, parents are still the most influential people in their lives.
