I have grown up in a loving and supportive family. My mom was a preschool teacher and my dad a chef. I have two younger siblings; my brother Mac is married with three kiddos and my sister Shaina is married with her first on the way.
I was raised Catholic until I was 10. We then converted to WI Lutheran. I went through confirmation classes in the WI Lutheran church and attended a church in that synod until I was 29 years old. Then things took a turn.
In fourth grade I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I went to Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and graduated in 2005 with my bachelors in Music Education. I started teaching elementary music in August of 2005 in Madison, WI and taught at the same school for 12 years. I absolutely loved being a music teacher, but found God leading in a different direction.
I felt a call to leave teaching and applied for jobs (mostly in Texas and Colorado) but nothing panned out. I kept teaching, but knew I needed to make a change in where I worshipped. I was invited to attend Heartland Community Church in Rockford, IL. After a few months I found the brave inside me and started attending the Heartland campus closer to home in Sun Prairie, WI. December 1, 2013, I was baptized as an adult and my faith and relationship with God has grown greater than I could have ever imagined and continues to grow every day.
Some fun facts: I have never lived outside of WI and I am a Packer fan. I love basically everything Disney! I love creating in the kitchen and gardening. I’m an avid reader. And my friends can always tell where I am by my laugh.
