Children and Family

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

-Matthew 19:14  NIV

As a community of Christ followers who are whole heartedly responsive to the love of God, radically transformed into the image of Christ and powerfully mobilized into Kingdom work by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to leading others to become devoted followers and ministers of Jesus Christ.

Our nursery is open Sunday mornings from 9 to noon and care is provided for children from birth to age 2.5.  Songs, engaging play materials and loving volunteers are on hand each week.

The preschool room is available during both the 9:00 Sunday School hour and the 10:45 church service and is designed to serve children ages 2.5 through 5 years old.   Bible stories, songs, and activities are explored each week.  We utilize Gospel Light's Growing with God curriculum, which aims to provide preschoolers with an increasing awareness of Gods love for them.  Snack and opportunities for active play on the playground are offered  weekly, weather permitting.

Elementary Age

Sunday School classes are  offered  at 9:00 for two distinct age groups: Primary- for kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade and Intermediate- for kids in 4th, 5th and 6th grades.  We utilize the Gospel Project curriculum from Lifeway that provides a Christ-centered, chronological  journey through scripture.

During the 10:45  church service,  all children start with their families in the sanctuary.  After worship and praise,  kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade are dismissed to the Tree house with their Children’s Church leaders. Currently, we are presenting lessons from the David C. Cook publishing family called, 13 Very..... Series Collection which focuses on biblical truths that support a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.

Students in 6th-8th grade are invited to sign up to be a  helper once a month with either Children's Church or in the preschool room. Otherwise, they stay in the sanctuary during service.

For over 60 years, kids of all ages have participated in AWANA  clubs,  Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed.  As a non-profit, world-wide ministry, the focus is on bible based evangelism and discipleship for kids ages 2-18, with the desire to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders.
All ages start together with worship songs and offering, then divide into age appropriate  groupings for specific bible lessons, games, snack, and scripture memorization.
