HOW IT ALL STARTED
Bethany Evangelical Free Church was founded in 1958 with a group of just 15 people creating the charter. Although it started small, God blessed the faithfulness of its people and their hearts, which burned for the expansion of His gospel. The church grew to over 300 attendees in the space of ten years.
Since then, Bethany’s size has ebbed and flowed, but its heart for God’s Word and for local and global missions has never wavered. As evident in the current survey responses, the people of Bethany are committed to the Word of God and the Gospel going out. Through the years, numerous short-term mission trips to nearly every continent and over 20 full-time missionaries have been sent out from among the members. Bethany has also partnered with multiple mission organizations such as Cadence International, OMF/Serve Asia, World Venture, and Wycliffe to bring the Bible to all tribes, tongues, and nations.
God has mightily used each of the seven lead pastors in Bethany’s history to bring vision and guidance to the flock. They have been men who know and love God’s Word. They focused on the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry. In the 65 years since Bethany has opened its doors, God has blessed the missions-minded hearts of its pastors and people. We know that He will continue to do so as we keep seeking the Lord’s heart.

EXPANDING THE VISION
Bethany is a church that brings people together in a refreshing community of Jesus Christ. As we do so our prayer and desire is to be join stories of people coming Christ in faith, people being commissioned to take the Gospel to the broken places of the world, and to live out Gospel-sized compassion!
WHERE WE ARE HEADED
With so many years of rich history, Bethany wants to continue to lead people to enjoy God as devoted followers of Jesus and glorify him as devoted ministers of Jesus. Our dream over the coming years is to be a part of bold stories of faith as people come to Christ in faith, are commissioned to apply His message of hope to the broken places of the world, and live out God-sized compassion!
